#1 Relationships: Does Social Media Really Destroy a Relationship ?

Times have changed. I know I am young but the definition of a relationship has changed from my parents time and my generation. Social media has taken over the minds of this generation. There are only a few people my age that has no social networking sites and everyone has a phone. The form of communication these days just makes it so easier for people be to sneakier or to to get caught doing something. I can honestly speak from personal experience on this topic but it is common. I was in a relationship all of 2014 with the same young man and social media defined so much in our relationship. No, it is not a god thing but that is how I found out so much sneaky stuff he was doing. Here I am being faithful, putting effort in the relationship and was being betrayed time after time. The first time I found out about him doing something, I had just really fell in love with him. Mistake or lesson learned? I take it as a lesson learned and I always just wanted him to delete all his social networking sites but he would not. I caught him in females messages on Facebook a couple of times, he would post like he was single whenever we got into an argument, and he would hide his phone. Now, if social media was not around, would these same things still have happened? I will never know but the stuff he was saying was not bad but it was embarrassing because I was his girlfriend. Events like this happening ruins communication in the relationship. Instead of actually talking, we always argued through text messages and that is honestly that worst form of communication. The following  link is a video that was on the news about social media killing relationships because nobody seems to talk anymore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SwV9cRjnGU That was a huge problem in my relationship. When we were mad at each other but were together, I would just surf the web instead of talking.
